Pittsburgh Sports Now Undergoes Full, Uniform Implementation of Taboola Offerings Across its Network of Eight Sites; Sees 118% Increase in Revenue YOY

Expansion of Taboola Products, Including Taboola Feed and Explore More, Aims to Drive Additional Revenue While Maintaining User Experience and Keeping the Integrity of the Pittsburgh Sports Now Brand In Tact

New York, NY – Taboola (Nasdaq: TBLA), a global leader in powering recommendations for the open web, today announced uniform implementation of its full suite of offerings across Pittsburgh Sports Now’s network of eight sites. Pittsburgh Sports Now, a trusted Taboola partner for over 5 years, is one of the few destination sites for Pittsburgh, Duquesne, RMU and WPIAL sports fans and receives over 10 million pageviews annually.

Under the agreement, Pittsburgh Sports Now will incorporate Taboola Feed across all of its digital properties including Steelers Now, Nittany Sports Now, Pittsburgh Baseball Now, The Portal Report and more. The Taboola Feed is a seamlessly integrated feed that provides readers with personalized content, including video, for a more engaging experience.

Pittsburgh Sports Now will also expand the implementation of Taboola’s Explore More product across its network – an offering designed to keep users visiting publisher sites directly from social media and apps, increasing engagement. Finally, Taboola’s mid-article placements will be another part of the package, allowing for new revenue opportunities and ways to both engage readers and improve the user experience.

Taboola has already proven the value of its products for Pittsburgh Sports Now, resulting in a 118% increase in overall revenue from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, Pittsburgh Sports Now has seen 4.5 million impressions resulting from the introduction of Taboola’s Audience Exchange Program in February 2022. Taboola’s Audience Exchange infrastructure helps publishers manage and optimize the flow of traffic across their network of sister and partner sites, as well as better deliver on third-party partnerships, wherein a certain number of clicks have been committed.

“As our readership continues to evolve, we are more dedicated than ever to maintaining the same user experience our visitors trust, as well as the integrity of our brand. We continue to renew our contract with Taboola each year because of the adaptability of their recommendation platform, their team’s understanding of our requirements and their commitment to delivering top-notch results,” said Mike Vukovcan, Owner, Pittsburgh Sports Now. “We are very much looking forward to seeing the results of our Taboola product suite expansion and continuing this fruitful relationship.”
