With eight years, four different roles, and a relocation from Brazil to Mexico City in the books, Juçara Trombeli, Advertising Account Director for the SAM market, knows a thing or two about what makes the Taboola culture such a special one to grow your career.
So what’s kept Juçara energized at Taboola for nearly a decade? More than just climbing a ladder, her experience has been about expanding horizons across roles, borders, and milestones. Here, she shares a look into her world as a team leader, how Taboola supported her through many work and life transitions as a working parent, and how the Taboola culture transcends borders.
What does your role look like at Taboola?
As an Account Director, I’m the strategic partner for our key clients and agencies. I love helping them scale and genuinely invest in their business results. It’s exciting to combine strategy, data, and creativity to deliver real ROI for advertisers, but it’s the people side of the role that’s my favorite. A massive part of my day-to-day is leading our team of Account Managers, helping them develop, and ensuring they have what they need to do their best work.
A key part of my role is also growth-oriented: identifying high-potential brands, building strong relationships, and developing those partnerships into long-term strategic accounts. Ultimately, the goal is to connect the right audience with the right message at the right time across the Open Web, while delivering measurable business outcomes for our clients.

What kinds of clients and strategic challenges does your team handle in the SAM market?
We partner with a diverse range of brands and agencies, from large enterprise advertisers and global agency groups to emerging brands focused on growth and performance. Our client portfolio spans multiple industries, including e-commerce, finance, automotive, travel, and education. We support businesses at different stages of maturity, from brands looking to build awareness to those focused on scaling customer acquisition and driving measurable business outcomes.
A major focus for us is leveraging AI-driven solutions to help clients achieve their marketing goals more effectively. We’re helping them navigate a rapidly evolving digital landscape by optimizing campaign performance through data-driven insights, enhancing targeting, maximizing ROI, testing solutions, and adapting strategies based on performance and market trends.

How have you evolved since joining Taboola in 2018?
I joined Taboola at our Brazil office as a Senior Account Manager, and since then, every time I’ve felt ready for more, Taboola has given me the chance to take it on. I was promoted to a Team Lead role, then to Account Director for Brazil, and today I’m the Account Director for SAM, continuing to build my career based in the Taboola Mexico office!
Taboola took you across borders. How did Taboola and your colleagues support you during that transition?
I’ve always been driven by the desire to keep learning, reinventing myself, and taking on new challenges. Relocating to another country with a young child could have been overwhelming, but Taboola made the transition feel smooth. My manager and the entire SAM team supported me at every step, from the practical side of relocating to helping me settle into a new market and culture. What stood out to me most throughout the entire process was the genuine warmth, care, and attention I received from the day I arrived. I never felt alone.
As the mom of a 4-year-old, I deeply value working for a company that lets me deliver strong results for my clients and team while staying present for my son. That balance is rare, and it’s a big part of why I’ve built my career here.

What’s unique about the Taboola CDMX culture?
The Mexico team is incredibly close-knit, and that “we’re one team” spirit shows up in two ways. First, in how everyone jumps in to help each other day to day. And second, how much we enjoy being together outside of work, at team lunches, happy hours, and team-building activities. It’s all genuinely fun and so on-brand with the Taboola spirit. That mix of mutual support and good energy is what makes our day-to-day feel light, healthy, and productive.

How does Taboola’s “one team” spirit drive high performance and big milestones?
Having worked in Brazil and now in Mexico City, I can confidently say that Taboola’s “one team” spirit isn’t unique to just one office; it’s felt across borders. I felt it strongly in Brazil, where I grew so much over the years, and I feel it just as much in Mexico City. What’s stood out about Mexico is the welcome: arriving in a new country, the closeness and care from this team made all the difference, and it’s been one of the warmest experiences of my career.
The small cultural nuances between the two are part of the fun, but the way people show up for each other is core to both. That collective mindset is exactly what drives our most significant regional wins. Most recently, I was incredibly proud to be part of the team that signed the first Joint Business Agreement (JBA) in SAM, a massive strategic milestone that secured a $2M USD agreement!
What do you look for when hiring for your team?
Beyond technical competence, soft skills are fundamental. I look for curiosity, resilience, a collaborative spirit, and people who are eager to learn, comfortable navigating change, and genuinely invested in the team’s success. Technical skills can be taught; the right attitude and the ability to build strong relationships are what truly set someone apart.

What keeps you growing at Taboola?
Eight years in, what keeps me motivated is how much there still is to learn, build, and evolve. The market in SAM is moving fast, and our products are continually developing and growing with new features and AI. I see so many opportunities ahead for our clients, my team, and the entire company.
