As part of a series of investments that Taboola has made in brand safety, Taboola worked with TAG for verification to offer brands and agencies an added layer of transparency. Companies that complete the “Verified by TAG” process receive a TAG-ID - which is a unique, global and persistent identifier that enables partners to verify legitimacy and reputation. In addition to the TAG process, Taboola offers direct control over campaign placement and negative keyword targeting - meaning brands can choose not to appear in articles that mention specific content.

“We think it’s important for all companies involved in the digital advertising supply chain to participate in a transparent verification process,” said Mike Zaneis, President and CEOTrustworthy Accountability Group. “Taboola, as a leader in content recommendation, working with many of the premium sites in the world, has taken an important step towards delivering a safe environment for brands online.”

“Brands and marketers are prioritizing strategies towards ensuring brand safety when reaching audiences digitally. In light of all the craziness out there, there is a massive opportunity for premium publishers to offer a safe experience, adjacent to high quality editorial content and garner meaningful native and video budgets from top brands,” said Adam Singolda, CEO and founder, Taboola. “As a company, Taboola will continue to invest in brand safety efforts and TAG’s certification programs are an important milestone for us as the industry evolves.”

Taboola acts as a search engine in reverse. Instead of expecting people to look for information, Taboola surfaces relevant and personalized information to people at the right time. Its predictive engine analyzes hundreds of real-time signals (including location, device type, referral source, social media trends and more) to match users with content they are most likely to be interested in consuming next, generating more than one billion moments of discovery (clicks) each month.
