Taboola Inks Strategic Partnership With The McClatchy Company, Iconic Newspaper Group With More Than 40 Million Global Readers

New York, February 24, 2015 – Taboola, the leading content discovery platform, today announced that it has partnered with news and information leader The McClatchy Company. Taboola will begin serving personalized content recommendations to McClatchy’s 30 digital newspaper properties in 15 states across the United States, including in many state capitals, reaching more than 40 million global readers a month across desktop and mobile platforms.

The addition of Taboola’s discovery platform to sites including The Sacramento Bee, The Modesto Bee, Miami Herald, The News & Observer, El Nuevo Herald, and Tri-City Herald, will enable McClatchy to both engage consumers and generate revenue.

Taboola will deliver a native integration of content recommendations to users based on a proprietary technology that analyzes context, collaborative filtering, geographic location, social media trends, and other signals.

“We’re proud to be collaborating with such an esteemed and long-established publisher, and to work with McClatchy on changing the way people discover content they may like and never knew existed,” said Adam Singolda, founder and CEO of Taboola.

“As our audience shifts to mobile, we are always looking to find new ways to add value to and monetize our online content,” said Christian Hendricks, Vice President Interactive Media of The McClatchy Company. “With Taboola’s technology, we can provide readers with additional, personalized content in the form of relevant sponsored stories.”

In October, Taboola announced that it reached 86 percent of all desktop users in the US, according to comScore’s September data, which is more than Facebook, Yahoo, AOL, and Google Sites.
