What is the key purpose of a Publisher Account Manager?

As a Publisher Account Manager working on the Publisher Account Management team in our Tokyo office, you will:

  • Be responsible for the successful implementation and launch of the Taboola content discovery platform across Japan.
  • Track performance and provide regular strategic direction for new opportunities to improve performance.
  • Build and optimize existing relationships by identifying and presenting new initiatives to publishers to improve performance and revenues.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

For this role, it is essential that you:

  • Have experience as an Account Manager in a digital/technology-based company (adtech experience is a strong advantage).
  • Are native-level in Japanese and can communicate in English for internal training and reporting.
  • Have significant experience using Excel to generate reports and manipulate data.
  • Have significant experience creating presentation decks with PowerPoint.
  • Possess outstanding relationship management and customer service skills.
  • Have very strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data and in generated reports.
  • Have high attention to detail, organized, and with strong communication skills.
  • Have a never-give-up mindset for driving win-win-win partnerships for publishers and Taboola.
  • Are a self-starter with the will and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

Nice to haves include:

  • Experience working with publishers and/or working in publishers in Japan.

What will I be doing on a day-to-day basis?

As a Publisher Account Manager, you will:

  • Manage and grow relationships with premium publisher clients and strategic partners in Japan.
  • Understand the organization’s business needs and develop relationships at all levels.
  • Monitor and analyse metrics and proactively take steps to improve results.
  • Be an expert in Taboola’s platform and the benefits publishers gain by using it.
  • Fully comprehend the technology, revenue ecosystem, and client needs/requirements in order to intelligently identify new opportunities and upsell the platform.
  • Work closely with the Publisher Sales teams as well as the remote R&D department to become a valuable resource and single point of contact to the client.
  • Communicate business intelligence from clients to the product management team in regards to new product development features.
  • Strategically support the Publisher Sales team in pre-sale proposal development.
