Content Selection

Taboola grants publishers full control of the content that is recommended through the Taboola widget. Long before launch, Taboola will restrict and open different content categories based on the preferences of your editorial team. We are able to do this because every single item in every campaign is categorized and classified by our account managers, much like a TV rating system.

Boost or Block Content

Any time a user is logged into Backstage, Taboola’s editorial control and reporting dashboard, your team will be able to remove advertiser or organic content from Taboola widgets simply by hovering over and clicking the red “thumbs down” on the actual live widget on their site. For organic recommendations, you are also able to “boost” certain content by clicking a green “thumbs up” that appears over the thumbnails on hover.

User Feedback

Taboola also enables readers to provide feedback on recommended content items and mark those they deem irrelevant and do not wish to view again. This data is then funneled back into the algorithm as an important signal to improve the performance of the recommendations. Data on user preferences will be made available to publishers, providing additional insight.
